Rhoda and Dr. Simon Fredricks have been breeding American Saddlebred Horses for almost 40 years. They have gained a reputation for breeding quality performance horses in the 3 gaited, fine harness, and futurity divisions.

They have produced these outstanding show horses from a small but exemplary band of broodmares. The most renown of which is “Denmark’s Radiant Society”, considered by many the greatest broodmare in the history of the breed. Her daughters “Simbara’s Sweet Bess” and “Simbara’s Special Someone” carry on this tradition of genetic superiority. Now her son “Simbara’s Living Legend” is available to continue this generation of excellence.

Dr. Fredricks was named 2004 breeder of the year by the American Saddlebred Association. He has served the industry well as a Board member and Vice President of the ASHA. His vision and dedication as chairman of the Building Committee resulted in the location of the American Saddlebred Museum and offices of the American Saddlebred Horse Association in the current building in the Kentucky Horse Park.

Carter Cox has been training horses for Simbara Farms for 16 years. The relationship Between the Cox’s and the Fredricks’s has been one of mutual cooperation and respect. Both families are held in high regard for their honesty and integrity.

Carter Cox holds a Masters in agricultural economics. He gained his experience of training saddlebred horses early in life under David Neil of Blythewood Farms and then under Garland Bradshaw. He subsequently worked for Eddie Barham and then under “Bud” Kinney at Cynthia Wood Stables. Carter and Karen opened “Woodstock Farm” in 1983 in Danville where all of Simbara Farms breeding and horses in training reside. Carter Cox has served on committees and as a member of the Board of Directors of the ASHA. Additionally, he has served as a member of the Advisory Board of the World’s Championship Horse Show. This year Mr. Cox was duly honored as he became a member and recipient of the World’s Championship Horse Show Hall Of Fame.
